Children know when they need to have a bowel movement. Their parents know when they need to have a bowel movement. If everyone knows, why won’t these kids go in the potty? These are normal kids who refuse to poop in the potty, no matter how much reminding or bribing the parents do. These kids will only poop in a pull up. Or, they might poop in their pants, but there is no way you can get them to go on the potty! Frustrating! “Maybe he can’t feel it,” a parent often says. Or, “Maybe he’s afraid of the potty,” another adds. Listen why both these answers are incorrect, and learn how to turn frustration into success with Dr. Bill’s advice.

Dr. Satterwhite, or “Dr. Bill” as he is fondly called by many of his little patients, is a kind and compassionate lawyer-turned-pediatrician who listens to patient and family concerns and explains complex topics in clear, easy-to-understand ways. His skills are so sought after that some patients drive up to an hour to see him. He is kept humble, however, by his wife of 25 years who regularly reminds him that she would “never drive that far to go to a doctor, no matter who he is.”
